Sheikh Muḥammad Yusuf Raḥmani (RA) was raised in a community strongly shaped by the teachings of the Rishis. He studied Quran, Persian moral texts, and local devotional poetry before choosing a life of contemplation, agriculture, and service – mirroring the classical Rishi lifestyle.
He became widely known as a spiritual healer and a mediator in village disputes, earning trust across the Budgam region.

His shrine in Chadoora continues to attract devotees from Budgam’s agricultural communities. His Urs remains marked by recitations of Rishi poetry and communal meals.
Local narratives claim that wild birds frequently perched near him during meditation, symbolising harmony with nature – a recurring theme in Rishi hagiography.
