Sheikh Muḥammad Sharif Raḥmani (RA) grew up in a devout rural family that practiced the Rishi ideals of simplicity, manual labour, and remembrance of God. He studied Quran, basic jurisprudence, and Persian ethical poetry before fully committing to the ascetic Rishi mode of living.
He became known for his quiet temperament, profound empathy, and ability to console those suffering from grief or illness.

Oral stories recount that a flock of sheep once refused to pass his hut until he emerged – symbolic of the Rishi tradition’s harmony with animals and nature.
