Biography

Sayyid Muḥammad Shah (RA) was born in an illustrious Sayyid household renowned for its scholarly and spiritual legacy. He received rigorous training in Quranic sciences, logic, Hadith, and classical Persian and Arabic texts.

He entered the Qadiriyya path under a master of the Fateh Kadal-Safakadal line and quickly became known for his eloquent teaching style, balanced temperament, and devotion to disciplined prayer.

He is buried in Malkhah, the great cemetery of Srinagar, where his grave continues to be visited, particularly during his Urs.

Oral accounts describe an incident where a child lost in the old city was found unharmed after the saint prayed – a symbolic tale reflecting trust in his spiritual intercession.
