Mir Nimatullah Qadiri (RA) was a scholar, poet, and spiritual guide known for his simple lifestyle and eloquent Persian writings. He studied under Sheikh Nur Muḥammad Qadiri (RA) and received khilafat-nama after years of rigorous discipline and service.
He was also respected as a calligrapher and commentator of Quranic verses, with several manuscripts attributed to his hand preserved in the Srinagar manuscript archives.

Advocacy of peaceful coexistence and tolerance among faiths
He founded a khanqah at Bijbehara, which became a sanctuary for travellers and seekers. His disciples later spread across south Kashmir, establishing local zawiyas and study circles.
His shrine at Bijbehara remains active, particularly during Urs ceremonies that include recitations from his Persian poetry and the Qadiri wird.
Oral narratives recount that after his death, fragrant light was seen emanating from his grave – an expression of divine acceptance in Kashmiri devotional culture.
