Sheikh Moḥiuddin Raḥmani (RA) was raised in Charar-e-Sharif, the heartland of the Rishi movement. Trained in Quran, Persian, and spiritual discipline, he chose the ascetic lifestyle characteristic of the Rishis.
He spent long periods in meditation at hillside caves before beginning his public teaching. His gentle temperament and compassionate approach mirrored the ideals of Sheikh Nuruddin Nurani (RA).

Emphasis on truthfulness, prayer, and ethical living
He revived several Rishi meditation sites around Charar-e-Sharīf and encouraged young seekers to pursue humility and self-sufficiency. His teachings reinforced the continuity of the indigenous Kashmiri Rishi ethos in the late 18th century.
Sheikh Moḥuiddin Raḥmani (RA) is buried near the complex of Sheikh Nuruddin (RA). His shrine is modest, in keeping with Rishi simplicity, and visited especially during Khawas recitations and Rishi prayer gatherings.
Oral memory recounts that wild animals would sit peacefully near him during meditation – a symbolic reminder of the Rishi harmony with nature.
