Legacy and Shrine
After his passing in 1185 AH / 1771 CE, Sheikh Abdul Wahab’s shrine became one of the most visited Qadiri sites in north Kashmir. His teachings influenced later reformist movements and bridged classical Sufism with emerging intellectual trends in the 18th century.
Legends and Oral Tradition
Local oral accounts claim that a luminous aura surrounded his tomb for seven nights after his death, symbolising his sanctity – a common hagiographic motif in Kashmiri spiritual literature.
